Lithium Battery Information.

We recommend Allied (https://alliedlithium.com/) “Drop-in-Ready” Lithium Batteries.  Allied Lithium Batteries are "Drop-In-Ready" lithium batteries for golf carts.  They are the same size as your current lead-acid batteries which allow you to convert your vehicle from lead-acid to lithium in less than 30 minutes.

Why switch from Lead-Acid?

●  Lithium Batteries cost versus Lead Acid Cost?

A few factors influence the price of lead-acid batteries. On average, you’ll likely spend between $900 and $1500. If you have a larger 72V golf cart, you’ll be looking closer to the $2000 mark.

Lithium batteries usually cost between $1,500 and $3,000 for a complete conversion. The cost varies based on the same factors as lead-acid batteries. So, brand name, volts, and amperage, Ah (amp hours) and installation costs. While this number may look daunting compared to the lead-acid battery cost, lithium batteries will save you money in the long run.

What Charger do I use?

Cannot use the lead acid battery charger that came with your cart.  Lithium battery chargers are designed completely different.  Allied 15A charger uses the standard golf cart plug and will use the existing port just as before.  A full 36V setup will charge in 2 to 4 hours versus lead-acid batteries that require 8 to 10 hours.

Opportunity Charging: This means you can top off your Lithium Batteries any time you want without harming the batteries (just like your cell phone). You cannot do this with Lead Acid without damaging and reducing the life of the batteries.

In order to maximize the life of the Lithium battery, we require the Allied Lithium Battery Charger. Allied Lithium chargers come with OEM plugs, charge the batteries quickly and turn off when charging is complete.

 Is Lithium Safe?

LifePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) is the safest battery chemistry available, and is non combustible / non flammable.

Allied BMS (battery management system) is integrated in each battery and will detect any problems with the performance of the battery and shut down any cells not functioning properly. The BMS will also protect the batteries from over-charging or undercharging of the batteries. FedEx and UPS have approved our product for air and ground shipping.

How do I store the batteries?

Allied batteries are great for long term storage. When leaving for the season, simply unplug the batteries from the application load. Great for long winters or snow birds leaving for months.

 How are they connected?

Lithium batteries will connect in a parallel method. Additional batteries can be added after initial installation to extend run time.  Most Carts that use 6, 8 or 12 volt lead acid batteries are connected in a series method.

In a nutshell, making the switch to lithium golf cart batteries is a step in the right direction. The benefits in terms of performance, longevity, and environmental impact are substantial. While the initial investment might seem higher, the long-term savings and advantages make it a worthwhile choice. So, for a smoother, efficient, and eco-friendly ride on the golf course, lithium-ion batteries are definitely worth the investment.
